Guidance and Official Resources
Each year, around 35,000 to 45,000 candidates qualify JEE Advanced, but only those who register can take AAT. Final B.Arch seats across Indian Institutes of Technology at Kharagpur, Roorkee, and BHU total roughly 100 to 120. Even if a fraction of eligible students opt for AAT, the seat pool remains very small. This means the seat-to-applicant ratio is tight, and JEE Advanced rank becomes highly sensitive during JoSAA allotment.
AAT itself is qualifying. A Pass does not improve rank; it only confirms aptitude eligibility. Final allotment depends entirely on JEE Advanced rank, category, and preference order.
Preparation should therefore focus on two areas. First, secure a strong JEE Advanced rank, since it determines seat allocation. Second, practise structured freehand drawing and three-dimensional visualisation, as AAT evaluates spatial clarity rather than theoretical knowledge.
